表语从句

用作表语的从句叫做表语从句。引导表语从句的引导词有：who, whom, whose, what, which, when, where, how, why, that, whether, as if, because等词。如：

　　The question is who will support us. 问题是谁会来支持我们。

　　What I want to say is whom we will support. 我要说的是我们支持谁。

　　That’s why I’m going to kill you. 这就是为什么我要杀你。

　　My suggestion is that we should search the house. 我的建议是我们应搜查这间房子。

　　The question is whether she is willing to marry you. 问题是她是否愿意和你结婚。(注意：if一般不用来引导表语从句，所以此处whether不能与if互换。)

　　It seems as if you have something to tell me. 你好像有话要对我讲。

　　This is because he broke the law. 这是因为他犯了法。
